eClinical Works does not allow cross street information for pharmacy locations to be input and saved for later use. It is very common to use cross streets to describe pharmacy locations. For example, Walgreens at the corner of Beach and University Blvd. Using Cross streets to describe pharmacy locations is efficient and useful for both healthcare providers and patients. It facilitates communication, reduces errors, eliminates unnecessary internet searches, and should be made available within eClinical Works.
What is even more of a problem, is I have spent a significant amount of time and staff hours manually inputting cross street information in to the eClinical Works for all the pharmacies used by my patients. This is the only way that I can determine what pharmacy my patients would like their medications sent to in a timely manner. On more than one occasion, eClinical Works has forced a software update on my practice that has deleted or removed the cross-street information from eCW that I have placed into the system. As a result of this, I must spend several minutes each time a patient wants to update their pharmacy to search in google maps for the area the patients say their pharmacy is located, find the address, and then match the address in google maps with the address in eClinical Works. Unfortunately, even these addresses do not match sometimes.
I have asked eClinical Works multiple times through email, phone calls, and help tickets to either include cross street information or please re-load the information that I previously input. They have responded by saying that is not possible. Furthermore, I have asked eClinical Works to please not delete the additional address information during future updates and they have informed me this is not possible. Overall, this is a significant burden for myself, my practice, and ultimately my patients.
