When ePrescribing, there is no option to update the patient’s pharmacy from the ePrescribing pop-up screen. This means the provider must exit the ePrescribe pop-up, go to the patient “info” area and input the pharmacy, then return to the patient visit and start the prescription process over again. This is very time consuming when you work in a busy medical practice.
Furthermore, from the ePrescription window, if you would like to avoid going to the patient info screen to update their pharmacy, providers need to change the pharmacy for each prescription, 1 by 1. You can imagine how this would be incredibly time consuming when refilling 10 medications.
